Located at 63 Old Compton St in Soho, La Pastaia is a charming Italian restaurant that brings the essence of home-cooked Italian cuisine to London. With rave reviews highlighting the authenticity and warmth of the food and service, it's evident that this cozy establishment strikes a chord with diners. Customer John Albanese captures the spirit of La Pastaia perfectly, likening its hearty, al dente pasta to his Italian grandmother's cooking. The restaurant prides itself on a selection of homemade pastas and robust flavors, all at reasonable prices. Micah Kelleners echoes this sentiment with praise for the delightful tiramisu and the accommodating staff, ensuring a relaxed dining experience, even during busy hours. This cozy eatery doesn’t just serve pasta; they also delight with exceptional pizzas and salads, as noted by Gerald Mousset and Grantland Drutchas. The warm goat cheese salad and the pesto pasta are particular highlights. Many diners appreciate the attentive service and the intimate atmosphere that allows for leisurely meals. In a city often filled with upscale, faceless establishments, La Pastaia stands out as a welcoming destination for those seeking genuine Italian comfort food.

Not sure about some of the 1-star reviews but La Pastaia is authentic Italian and reminds me of my Italian grandmother’s cooking. It is small but and does not try to be “upscale”. What it does try to do and succeeds exceedingly well at, is bring you home cooking. We Italians prefer al dente pasta, and that is pretty standard no matter what scale of restaurant it is. And here they have a selection of homemade pastas, with hearty portions. Flavorful Italian comfort food at very reasonable prices.

The pasta here is really good, the tiramisu as well. They try their best to give everyone a table, even when it’s busy, without giving you the feeling that you need to rush. The waitress is doing her best to give you a good and fast service. We had a great night!

This place definitely deserves better review than it has gotten so far! The warm goat cheese salad was amazing! We could order 2 more! The pesto pasta and the mushroom/chicken special were absolutely delicious! The server was very sweet, and the atmosphere was cute. Would totally come back. A sleeper!

Great little find last night. Terrific pizza and lovely service. Yes, it's small and cosy but that adds to the charm - aren't you all tired of faceless soulless restaurants? Support small, friendly, tasty, value restaurants where your money matters and you are valued.

An amazing place to have the best food. The pesto pasta is one the best that I have had in a long time and is my new favorite. Already had two date nights here and I am going to explore all the the vegetarian options here, now.

I had wild boar ragu pasta and tiramisu, and both were delicious. As an Italian myself, that is what I would expect to taste in an Italian-owned restaurant. Highly recommended!

Came by this small Italian restaurant by chance on our first night in London. The pizza was so good and very authentic. We will definitely go back! Very good value for money and great service.
